Namibian Sign Language (NSL) Resources

The Namibian Sign Language Dictionary

The Namibian Sign Language Dictionary is produced by NNAD. There are two versions available: a regular dictionary and a Pilot dictionary.

Copies of both books can be obtained in Windhoek at the NNAD offices in Okuryangava, Disability Resource Centre. NNAD also offers a countrywide courier service for prospective buyers. To make a purchase, simply get in touch by email to place your order, make your payment and share the proof of payment with NNAD.

The dictionary is currently under review for an update in the near future, with added vocabulary to complement the Namibian Sign Language App which is under development. The production of the updated dictionary will be based on orders received from interested parties.

The Namibian Sign Language Dictionary

The regular dictionary, suitable for all, includes pictures and provides guidance for users. It costs N$250 in full colour. However, there is a special price of N$150 during September, in conjunction with the International Week of Deaf Awareness.

The Namibian Sign Language Pilot Dictionary

The Pilot dictionary is more descriptive and works better for individuals with a good command of English. It costs N$100.
