Namibian Sign Language (NSL) Training

NSL Training in Windhoek

NNAD offers training in Namibian Sign Language from Level 1 to Level 3. The duration of training for each level is 10 months, starting in February and ending in November each year. Training runs three days a week and has a one-month holiday as well as complying with government public holidays. Training is face-to-face and is conducted at the NNAD head office in Okuryangava, Windhoek. Upon passing each level, individuals will progress to the next level for another 10 months until they complete Level 3.

Those who complete Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 can go on to register at Namcol for the Diploma in Sign Language Intrepreting (DSLI) which is a full-time two-year course resulting in a Level 6 qualification. NNAD and Namcol have a MoU in this collaboration.
